The "New" District

This project aims to revitalize an old district in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China, by incorporating modern amenities while preserving the historical architectural style called Qi Lou. The district, once a center of foreign trade, has fallen into disuse due to inadequate facilities and a lack of space. The project proposes a comprehensive renovation that reconfigures the layout and improves infrastructure to make the area suitable for modern living. The goal is to reduce the need for further land development while promoting the cultural heritage of the region. By combining history and modernity, the project hopes to provide a new and dynamic living space for the local community.
