For The Birds: Habitat Restoration and Ecotourism in the Alameda Creek Estuary
Location: Fremont, CA

The Alameda Creek Estuary has long been a safe haven for migratory birds along the Pacific Flyway. However, nearby industrial development has led to severe habitat degradation. For The Birds is a master plan for habitat restoration and the establishment of ecotourism infrastructure in the wetlands surrounding Alameda Creek. Within that scope, restoration and development efforts are focused on migratory bird populations. This project explores the coexistence of human and avian communities in both the short and long term.
