The San Francisco Infrastructure and Investment Department is exploring development in Hunters Point, but some designated areas fall within a liquefaction zone, presenting substantial risks, especially for vulnerable and undeserved communities. This could potentially exacerbate homelessness. Moreover, approximately 90% of the Bay Area’s wetland habitats were eliminated in the mid-1800s after the Federal government approved the Swamp Act, which deemed swamps undesirable. My project focuses on identifying the best locations for development while also restoring crucial wetland habitats.
