Craft Heritage Museum of Minnesota: Immigrants and Their Cultures

Location: Rochester, Minnesota

Many heritage crafts have almost become extinct. I’ve designed a craft heritage museum in order to educate children and their families on the crafts brought over to the US by European immigrants. My design will foster learning through play, and entertain visitors. I aim to make it enjoyable for everyone, from young children to their great grandparents.

The central pieces of my project are the museum exhibits, maker space, playground, and dye garden. I this museum will function as a “third space” like a library or coffee shop, where the community can gather without having to buy anything.
